Illinois Laborers & Contractors Joint Apprenticeship & Training Program

As a construction worker in today’s ever-evolving jobsite, it can be a challenge to maintain skills at or above the industry standard. But as a Labor union worker, you receive the hands-on training needed to learn new skills to continue to excel on the jobsite.

In the early 1970’s, the Illinois Laborers & Contractors Joint Apprenticeship & Training Program (ILCJATP) was established which gauged and encompassed the specific training needs of construction workers. From the outside terrain and covered timber lands surrounding the four specifically located training facilities, to the mocked construction jobsite training structures that are located conveniently on campus grounds, the ILCJATP established these training facilities with the construction worker in mind. Students receive specialized hands-on training in various fields of the construction industry giving them a competitive edge above unskilled workers.
